Unfortunately, its magnificent ability to blend with its native environment has failed to protect it from its greatest enemy – man. I have had the good fortune to view the snow leopard up close and personal here in the US at a special place that brings animals together with artists & photographers. I had a chance to look into this cat`s eyes and just lose myself in that icy bluish green. I was captivated! This painting is my attempt to capture the angst that I feel on behalf of these animals whose future is seriously in question, as well as the angst I feel that the world could lose these stunningly gorgeous cats.
